Margaret's book, Celebration, won several awards, and I ran a series
of six godslots on it in the paper. However, a mix-up in the Collins/Fount
inventory system meant that anyone who asked for it in a bookshop was told
it was out of print, and 2,000 copies rotted in a warehouse in Glasgow. Another
thing for which we must thank Rupert Murdoch. It has since been reissued,
in England, by Mowbrays. I will add the ISBN when I find it.
Her son Francis has just published a very well-received cultural study of Antarctica, I will be some time. Ice and the English Imagination. |
